Faith just posted a new horse book, Willow King by Chris Platt. It has some kid-romance parts that she says are kind of embarrassing, but they're good. Check out the summary in the Horse section Ages 9+.

Hey everyone! I just posted seven of Andrew Clements' "School Stories" in the Realistic Fiction section: Frindle, The School Story, The Last Holiday Concert, Lunch Money, No Talking, Room One, and A Week in the Woods. (Note: Room One is also in the Mystery section) These are all good books, with entertaining plots and fun characters. They're all about totally different things, which is why I didn't put them into a series together, but they're kind of on the same train of thought. I highly recommend them as light reads about kids and what they can be capable of. Just scroll down to Ages 8+.
I also added Chasing the Dragon to the Christian and Nonfiction sections in Ages 13+. This book tells of the amazing conversions, healing, and miracles seen by Jackie Pullinger, a woman who settled in destitute Hong Kong to spread the light there. Also, we've separated out the horse genre books from the animal section and put them into Horse. So if you love horses, want some fun animal books to read, or want to get into some great classics like Black Beauty and My Friend Flicka (insert BOLD TYPE here, because I LOVE these books. They're GREAT for EVERYONE), then go check it out. New Books-Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Super Mysteries & The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict4/12/2012 Hey everyone! Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Super Mysteries are now in the Mystery section if you scroll down to Ages 8+. These are fun because of the characters working together. Faith just put Moon Shadow on as well in the Animal section, Ages 8+. It's a pretty fun horse book.
Also, The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict just came out April 10! To read about this prequel to The Mysterious Benedict Society, go to Mystery and scroll down to Ages 9+. It was fun, though a bit different from the first trilogy because of the main character. Who knew Mr. Benedict was such a charmingly witty little boy? We enjoyed it. Our whole family really enjoyed The Mysterious Benedict Society as well. If you would like to check out this series, go to Adventure Ages 9+. Hey everyone! It's April! Two last books posted in March were Storm Chaser by Chris Platt (Animal Ages 9+) and Firehorse by Diane Lee Wilson (Animal & Historical fiction Ages 11+). These are both good for people who like horses, and Firehorse is especially good for historical/realistic fiction lovers.
Hey everyone! In case you haven't noticed the frenzy that's been building about the most anticipated movie of March 2012, The Hunger Games movie came out today, and my dad and I watched it this morning. It's actually not as gory and dark as I was expecting (the director did try to keep from showing the bad parts while still getting the moral across, which I appreciated), but it was too rushed. The book was MUCH better. It was alright though (I'd give it a 7/10), just nothing very special, and my dad got motion sickness. However, it was pretty close to the book, and the point it was making was clearly there, so that was good.
If you want to check out The Hunger Games books, which are more graphic but have much better character development and a clearer story line, check out the Action or Sci-fi page and scroll down to Ages 13+. For a movie review from Focus On the Family which I thought was pretty accurate in summing up the movie, go to Plugged In. Simon Bloom: The Gravity Keeper is now in the Sci-fi section. Scroll down to 10+. It's good for a light-hearted, wild ride, with a mixture of wizard, superhero, and science found in its pages.
Thanks Cara! :) Complete lists of books in the larger groups are now available for the fiction and Christian sections. The fiction books index can be found by clicking the "Fiction" tab. The Christian index tab is found under "Christian." We also took the liberty of sort of "rating" the books. All the books are great, of course, but our personal favorites are noted in the indexes, so go check them out! :)
Oh yeah, and a new Gallagher Girl book (Book 5: Out of Sight, Out of Time) came out about a week ago. I haven't read it yet, but I will soon. They're good books to read if you like action, some romance, and spy-girl antics and humor. You can find the series in both Drama/Romance and Spy. If you like thrills, plots, and some romance, check out Heist Society by Ally Carter, in both the fiction action and fiction drama/romance pages, recommended for ages 12+. It's quirky, funny, and entertaining, with good characters and ingenious plots.
Once Upon a Marigold is now in the Fantasy section. Scroll down to Ages 9+. It's a quirky fairytale for readers who want a fun, lively read. I'd read it a few years ago and just remembered it because of my sister and one of her best friends. (Pssst. Caroline! You're on the News Blog.) :)
Faith and I just started a new series by Gordon Korman, Swindle. It's funny and fast-paced, with quirky characters and some great Plans (you'll understand when you read it). The fourth book just came out in January and I can't wait to read it. Go to the Adventure section and scroll down to ages 10+.
